A scene set in the sports field of Rydell High on that summer carnival day to celebrate the end of school. As with all of Mark's work, there are numerous layers of detail and references to discover. The composition leads you into the picture from the left to the right with the iconic Greased Lightning car, the swirl of the helter skelter and the Hollywood hills in the distance. There is a scattering of balloons, butterflies flying across the grass and plenty of other familiar objects from the film. Spot characters and lyrics from the music which are almost hidden in the scene.
